Workshop of Camerata XXI
Last July, Xavier Pagès was the conductor of the young instrumentalists
orchestra workshop organized by Camerata XXI. There were concerts in
Tarragona, Reus and La Riba.

"Pines
of Rome" of Respighi with the Bacau's Philharmonic
Last July, `Xavier Pagès was one of the six selected students to attend the
International Academy of Orchestra Conducting of Bacau (Romania). His
performance of "Pines of Rome" by Respighi, ended this year the final
concert of the Academy.

"Rubricatus"
with the Orquestra Berguedà
Last 2nd of June, Xavier Pagès conducted the Orquestra Berguedà in a concert
integrated in the modern art exposition "Via Rubricatu" by Jordi Rocosa,
which describes the Llobregat river during its way to the Mediterranean sea.

Martínez conducts "Dotze lustres" at the Palau de la Música Catalana
"Dotze lustres", sardana by Xavier Pagès awarded in the first Fèlix
Martínez Comín Memorial, was performed by the Cobla Sant Jordi - City of
Barcelona conducted by Virgina Martínez during the Cicle of Cobla, Choir and
Dance of the Palau de la Música Catalana.

New
Year's Concert in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda
For second consecutive year, "La Passione" Orchestra conducted by Xavier
Pagès, performed the New Year's Concert in Sant Perpètua de Mogoda, this
time with the collaboration of the mezzosoprano Àngels Busquets. Several
opera arias and overtures, together with a selection of Viennese valses were
performed.

"Winter"
is recorded by the Spanish Radio Television (RTVE) Choir
Recently, it has been finished the edition of the recording realized last
summer by the RTVE Choir, conducted by Josep Vila. It includes works by
Catalan contemporanean composers like Carles Gumí, Josep Baucells, Oriol Cruixent and Josep Vila. It also includes "Winter"
by Xavier Pagès, on the original English text by William Shakespeare.

The
Orchestre of Catalogne in the International Festival of Music of Sitges
The 19th of August of 2006, Xavier Pagès conducts a concert in the
International Festival of Music of Sitges, in which works of Haydn, Holst
and Dvorak will be performed . In addition, it is heard for first time in
Sitges the work "Temps of sega" by the young composer David Llorens. This
same program will performed in Prats (France) the 11th of the same month.
Concert
of Catalan music in the Festival of Perelada
The 27th of July of 2006, Xavier Pagès conducts a concert of Catalan music
in the Summer Festival of Perelada, with the coblas Sant Jordi - City of
Barcelona, La Principal del Llobregat and la Principal de la Bisbal. Among
the performed works, there is "Despertaferro",
commissioned to Xavier Pagès by the Comissió d'Aplecs Sardanistes de les
Comarques de Barcelona (CASCB).

Premiere
of "Dotze lustres" in
the Summer Festival of Barcelona (GREC)
The 9th of July of 2006, Xavier Pagès conducts a concert in the Summer
Festival of Barcelona, in which the Cobla Sant Jordi - City of Barcelona
performs his three sardanas together with "La roda del temps". The last
sardana, "Dotze lustres", was
awarded in the 2006 Fèlix Martínez Comín Memorial, and it is presented as a
world premiere.

Special
mention on innovation in the Memorial Fèlix Martínez Comín
2006
The third sardana of Xavier Pagès, "Dotze lustres",
has obtained a special mention on innovation in the Memorial Fèlix Martínez Comín 2006 in the celebration of the 60th aniversary of the
creation of the dance group Violetes del Bosc. The sardana will be premiered
the 16th of March of 2006 at the Saló de Cent of Barcelona by the Cobla
Sant Jordi - City of Barcelona conducted by the composer himself. Public
will assist only with official invitation.

Concert
of the Cobla Sant Jordi - City of Barcelona at the Cycle of Cobla, Choir and
Dance of the Palau de la Música
Next 4th of March at 19:00 p.m., Xavier Pagès will conduct the Cobla Sant
Jordi - City of Barcelona and the pianist and composer Albert Guinovart, in
the third concert of the Cobla, Choir and Dance Cycle of the Palau de la
Música of Barcelona. It will be performed a concerto for piano and cobla by
Albert Guinovart, together with works by P. Ventura, J. Ventura, A.
Borgunyó, F. Martínez Comín, and S. Brotons. It will also be premiered the
Cycle's commission for this year, "Grotesque
Variations" by Xavier Pagès.
